Fill ‘er up
today i went to the clinic and got some much needed blood. my platelets were still very low at 4, and my red blood count dropped below 26 to 25.7. I got one bag of platelets and two bags of red blood. The three transfusions took over 3 hours–in total, i spent over 8 hrs in the clinic today. i kind of expected this–with each round of chemo, i usually have one or two of these “long” days. on the bright side, i feel more energetic (thanks red blood donors), and i’m at less of a risk for crazy shit to happen (thanks platelet donor).
my white counts have hit an all-time low: 0.2. The normal range is 3.8-10; I am definitely FAR below normal. this means that in all likelihood, i’ll be spending my 4th of July inside. Everyone enjoy yours!

Last 4th of July I sat hidden in my new apartment until you called seeming to know and then I sat and watched fireworks outside (advantage of living near tempe “lake”). I can’t believe I’ve been here a year. This year I’ll toast the fireworks to raising those numbers back up.
Blood = good for you, bad for my stomach. That shit freaks me out.
